1. Do I have to have a domain name registered prior to signing up for the QuickServe hosting plan?
No, you can register your domain name and order your QuickServe hosting plan at the same time. If you do not have a domain name registered prior to signing up for the QuickServe plan you must register a domain name at the time of signup.
2. Do I have to register my domain name with Halfprice Hosting?
It is not mandatory that you register your domain name with Halfprice Hosting in order to host with us. We are more than happy to sign clients up for the QuickServe hosting plan who have registered their domain name with a different provider although we highly encourage clients to register their domain name with Halfprice Hosting.
3. If I have registered my domain name with a different provider will I have to do any additional work after signing up for the QuickServe plan?
Yes, but it is very minimal. All you have to do is make changes to your domain record so that it contains the correct DNS name servers. Our name server information, which you may need to transfer your domain, will be included in the QuickServe welcome letter you will receive 5 minutes after signing up.
4. Do I receive additional features with my QuickServe account if I registered my domain name with Halfprice Hosting?
Yes, all QuickServe accounts whose domain name has been registered with Halfprice Hosting will receive unlimited sub domains, redirects, and pointers for free. QuickServe accounts whose domain name has not been registered with Halfprice Hosting will receive the first five sub domains, redirects, and pointers for free with each additional carrying a one-time setup fee of $9.95 and a recurring fee of $9.95 a year.
5. Do you support any domain extensions in addition to those listed on the Halfprice Hosting website?
No, Halfprice Hosting currently only supports the domain extensions listed on www.HalfpriceHosting.com/domain-registration.asp
6. I need additional disk space, data transfer or email addresses for my solution, do you allow this?
Unfortunately, the elements of the QuickServe hosting plan are fixed to the level and quantity as outlined on the Halfprice Hosting website at www.HalfpriceHosting.com/web-hosting.asp. If your solution requires additional resources, please contact our sales staff at sales@halfpricehosting.com so that we may better assist your needs.
7. I already signed up for the QuickServe plan but have not received my Welcome Letter. When should I receive this?
Your QuickServe Welcome Letter is set approximately 5 minutes after you complete your signup to the email address you provided. If you signed up your account more than 5 minutes ago and have not received this letter please email us at HostingSupport@HalfpriceHosting.com. In your email, please give us the domain you signed up and the time of your signup.
8. With the QuickServe email, Squirrel Mail, how will I be able to check and administer my email?
You will be able to access your QuickServe email via a POP client such as Outlook or Eudora, or via a web interface. You can add or remove accounts and perform all administration functions through your online control panel.
9. I did not register my domain name with Halfprice Hosting, how many sub domains, redirects and pointers do I get?
QuickServe accounts whose domain name was not registered with Halfprice Hosting receive the first five sub domains, redirects, and pointers for free with each additional carrying a one-time setup fee of $9.95 and a recurring fee of $9.95 a year.
10. How do I login to my QuickServe Control Panel?
Once you have signed up for the Halfprice Hosting QuickServe account you will receive a Welcome letter containing your username and password. This password information is needed to login to the online control panel located at http://quickserve.halfpricehosting.com.
11. I'm a long time Halfprice Hosting customer on a plan other than QuickServe, how do I get to my control panel?
All Halfprice Hosting customers who have been with us for a long time and are on any plan besides the QuickServe plan your control panel can be accessed at at http://controlpanel.halfpricehosting.com.
12. I have been with Halfprice Hosting for a long time and I'm considering moving to the QuickServe plan from my previous Halfprice Hosting plan. Is there anything I should be aware when making this decision?
Yes, there are several things which are different from the QuickServe platform and previous hosting plans offered by Halfprice Hosting. We highly recommend that all clients considering a switch to the new QuickServe platform visit www.HalfpriceHosting.com/customer-hosting-migration.aspx.
13. I am a long time Halfprice Hosting customer and have switched plans, is there anything I need to do in order to have my website available on the new QuickServe plan?
Yes, after you have signed up the new QuickServe plan you will have ten (10) days to move your website and email files from your current server space to the new QuickServe plan. After you have moved these files you will need to email our support department at HostingSupport@HalfpriceHosting.com to have us re-point the DNS information to the new server location.
